Auto-Rigger

Rig a character

Add a humanoid skeleton so your character can move and be used as an avatar.

Open Auto-Rigger

Opens with an example. No account needed to look around.

  1. 1

    Use a rig-ready model

Upright, full body, arms away from the body, legs apart. Asset Studio's T-pose option helps.

  2. 2

    Open the Auto-Rigger

Choose Rig in Asset Studio, or Auto-Rigger in Mesh Editor. Pick five fingers, mitten or none to match the hands.

  3. 3

    Place the markers

Set the front direction and drag each marker onto the real joint. Check both sides.

  4. 4

    Check and export

Play an animation to check bending. Then export, or continue to the VRChat guide.

Rigging is free. Static props skip this step.
